AKRON, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Myers Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MYE) announced today that it will acquire Step2 Co, LLC’s rotational molding manufacturing assets in Decatur to increase its production capacity, but undisclosed sums.
The investment comes as Myers continues to expand its rotational molding capabilities in the United States.Myers’ Material Handling segment utilizes rotational molding to provide high-quality, durable products for a wide range of end markets, including outdoor recreation, construction, vehicles and industrial applications.The 41,000-square-foot facility in Georgia has increased production capacity to support new and existing customers in the southern United States.
This expansion demonstrates Myers’ commitment to expanding its customer sales and service offerings while building a presence in new markets.This is the latest action taken as part of Horizon 1 of the company’s 3 Horizons strategy, which focuses on: self-help, organic growth and consolidation of mergers and acquisitions.The expansion follows Myers’ acquisition of Elkhart Plastics and Trilogy Plastics, which further extends Myers’ market leadership as a rotational molding machine serving a variety of niche markets.
